One of the reasons I have 144 feeds that I read is because you never know where the great information and inspiration will come from (BTW if you want to see a list of my feeds, click here). I don’t fully read all these feeds every day, but I do glance at each post and quickly move on if it is not of interest at that moment.
Sometimes the expected happens - Tom Peters writes something that is both provocative and motivating.
And sometimes the unexpected happens - one of my motorcycle blogs writes something that totally motivates me or gives me a new business idea.
Here are a couple posts that might be of interest to several of my 2 Weeks 2 a Breakthrough pilot participants, or anyone looking to makes things happen.
Several of you are looking to build your business. Here is an interesting post from sales expert Lori Richardson over at Smile & Dial (AKA Salesprocessdiva). In general, if you are looking to increase sales, you should be reading Lori (she is also a fellow blogger over at Allbusiness.com).
This recommendation will help those of you interested in creating greatness inside the workplace and those who want to build their business. Do you read Tony Morgan’s blog? I recommend that you do. Tony is as a pastor on the senior management team at Granger Community Church. (Note: For those of you a bit uncomfortable that I might be espousing religion - that’s not what this is about. Personally, I am not very religious person, but I respect Tony’s approach to his business.)
If you are a leader or manager or someone wanting to build his or her business, check out several of Tony’s posts. I would not have expected to find cutting edge leadership philosophies and business practices in a church, but Tony is showing us what’s state of the art for church business management - and 99% applies to other businesses. Here are a couple posts that I think will whet your appetite:
Keeping score and bringing in the numbers - they are doing SOMETHING right!
How to treat and attract customers
It's a short post, but read my comments and his response, too.
Benchmarking what others are doing.
Again, if you are not into the religious content, just observe how Tony is approaching and leading his business. He's very proactive and curious.
