I was sitting at a local coffee shop (home of the velvet foam) waiting for someone and flipping through the small journal I keep to record ideas and thoughts. This is a great thing to do because there’s good stuff in there!
Here are the gems that I wanted to refer to again and again from the book The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell:
Three Rules of a Tipping Point:

1. Law of the few.
We should find connectors, mavens, and salespersons.
Don’t underestimate the strength of weak ties.
2. Stickiness factor.
“The lesson of stickiness is the same. There is a simple way to package information that, under the right circumstances, can make it irresistible.”
Ideas have to be memorable and move us to action.
3. The power of context.
“We are exquisitely sensitive to changes in context.”
“Behavior is a function of social context.”
Our inner states are the result of our outer circumstances.
How does this relate to your goal? Breakthroughs often happen when we:
Enroll others (#1)
Share what we are up to in a compelling manner (#2)
Align our context for success (#3)
