Are you groovin with the drumbeat? - Chat with David Anderson
Today's 22 minute podcast is with David Anderson who works for Microsoft and has written a book called Agile Management (and has a blog by the same name). David and I chat about how managers can use drumbeat and the natural cycles and rhythms of the work environment to improve productivity and focus. We also discuss data that show how a collaborative work environment out performs a non-collaborative one.
Understanding optimal work cycles and pace is critical. Listen to this podcast!

The podcast was interesting, with David repeating several bits of research about effectiveness/productivity. Here are a few books that you might enjoy.
The Twenty Minute Break by Ernest Rossi covers a lot of the research and is pretty easy reading, too.
The Power of Full Engagement by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz has a lot of good stuff on arousal curves and energy management.
And, to pay homage to a master, let's not forget that Drucker was writing about 90 minute work cycles in the Effective Executive back in the mid-sixties.
