Meeting Tips from the Cranky Middle Manager

Wayne Turmel, host and creator of the Cranky Middle Manager podcast has put out his first e-book, which is titled: Meet Like You Mean It- a Cranky Middle Manager’s Guide to Productive and Painless Meetings.

This 37 page e-book if filled with lots of great stuff about meeting effectiveness AND Wayne's signature directness and wit. His choices of quotes and words adds a lot of color to what could otherwise be considered a dryish topic. Here's a Dave Barry quote from the e-book that certainly represents how I feel about the topic:

If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings."

Wayne addresses several aspects of meeting management including:

  • Why meetings stink
  • How to plan and prepare for a meeting
  • Selecting participants
  • Running meetings
  • Concluding and following up

We all gotta meet. Through down eight bucks for this entertaining e-book that will help you make the most of them.
