Fireside Chat with Rosa Say
Are you relying too much on management fad? - Chat with Rosa Say
Today's podcast is with fellow management author, leadership coach, and blogger, Rosa Say (you can get to all of Rosa's sites here). We talk about an important and challenging topic - making better choices about how we spend time, how to give up doing good stuff (to make way for great stuff), and the importance of being a role model for focus and good judgment. Since both Rosa and I coach leaders, you can hear our thoughts about the advice we most give clients and the coaching we occasionally have to remind ourselves of, too.
Improve your leadership reputation and solidify your legacy. Listen to this podcast!

There are still three more podcasts in this first series - then who knows!

Under the Six Degrees category, I had the good fortune to briefly meet Rosa in mid-June in Honolulu. I had just finished meeting with a Hawaiian hospitality supplier. As I was leaving the conference room my hostess said, "Please wait one moment, there is someone I would like you to meet. This is my business coach, Rosa Say."
I only spent a few moments with Rosa, but her energy and spirit surrounded me and traveled with me ever since. Your Fireside Chat with Rosa gave me a nice booster shot -- a wonderful gift. Thank you!
During that same trip to Honolulu, I also met Peter Apo. Rosa writes about Peter in her "Managing with Aloha" blog. My encounter with both Rosa and Peter help remind me that it's not the concept, it's not the project, and it's not the 'thing;' it's the behavior.
Now, isn't that a wonderful thought to begin a new day?

Scott - It's a small world, eh? Yes, that's great. Thanks for sharing about your close encounters.
The six degrees this is pretty cool, too. I recently connected myself to Georgia O'Keeffe in five.
The movie is fabulous too.

Aloha Lisa and Scott, how wonderful to click in to Lisa’s this morning and find two gifts: The posting of our Fireside Chat - which was great fun to do with you Lisa! - and your heart-warming story of our first meeting Scott; you’ve made my day with both the memory of it and your own recall here. We often talk about how our world has gotten flatter and smaller in this global, electronic age we are so fortunate to live in, but our person-to-person connections (whether in person or by voice) are what lends it the warmth we glow and revel in. I am now scheming about, and looking forward to my next opportunity to connect with each of you.
Though I live on the Big Island, I’m on O‘ahu often Scott - let me know when you’re next there!
As you know Lisa, we recorded our conversation a few weeks ago, and you might smile to read the post about BHAGs that happened to land on my blog this same morning you have chosen to post our Fireside Chat. It all does align with my needing to Focus Like a Laser Beam, for the Letting-Go choices I’ll be making will be essential for my BHAG-to-come!
Mahalo nui for being Mea Ho‘okipa (hostess extraordinaire) with our chat Lisa … two coaches, hmmm … small wonder it turned out to be one of your longer ones!

Rosa - I did notice your post on BHAGs with interest. I love the way you are putting yourself OUT THERE and knowing that the BHAG is a tool for your success. I can't wait to see what you come up with.
Yes, I am sure we could have gone on all day..... :-)

GREAT podcast Lisa and Rosa. 2 of my favorite people, talking about personal power. WOW! I'm saving this one for the times I need a shot in the arm to get me going. Awesome!

Lisa,
I just finished listening to the podcast while sorting through my office material.
That was the first time I have heard Rosa's voice and the combination to your two voices and thoughts were quite inspiring.
Thanks,
David
