Last year I was embarrassed because I missed the one year anniversary of my blog's beginning.
Well, I did it again. I started Management Craft in August 2004.

As you know, bloggers get a lot of new traffic from Google. The post that draws the most traffic is still this one (search terms are something like management versus leadership).
Second most viewed post.
Third most viewed post.
It is interesting to be so old in internet years. I still feel like a neophyte because the technology and best practices keep changing.
Goals for Year #3:
1. Keep building the audience. I don't care about Technorati, I just like being able to reach people. To better do this I think I need to start using tags, but I find all the information out there quite confusing. I also want to continue to build readership because my content is valued - that's what's most important.
2. Stay fresh and fun. My behavioral style is that of a start-up person. I get bored easily. The fact that I am still doing this, and enjoying it, two years later is a miracle. Thanks to all of you for making it fun for me.
3. Improve the value. Bloggers have many goals, and I am no exception. Sure, I would like for my blog to help build my business and sell books, but I have come to learn that being great results in more exposure and support than does pitching and advertising (see tomorrow's podcast for even more in this theme).
4. Advertising.....hmmmm... I am not sure what to do about this. I am an Amazon.com associate, so when you click on books, I get a piece of the action. Other than this, and my Stylewriter affiliation, I have not done much with weekly or monthly ads. I guess if it does not detract from YOUR experience, it's OK, right? And if I can make a few bucks, it's OK. But I am still on the fence with this one. I have had people ask me about advertising to the site and have so far turned them away.
Thanks for tuning into Management Craft!

Happy Blog Birthday Lisa. The value you provide is AMAZING! Thanks for sharing as much as you do!
