Pressure, Brain, Engage
Here's a worthy threesome of posts:
The Slow Leadership blog asks: Are you in danger of using work pressures as an excuse? Great question to think about. I have known managers who lived in overwhelm and then used overwhelm (which is totally made up) to produce more overwhelm and use this as a victim conversation. I know one woman who lost her job because of this tendency.
Brain Based Business offers the challenge to Change Your Brain and Change Your Business. People talk of momentum like it can only be a good thing. We are always affected by momentum - the question is whether that momentum is serving us well or not so well. The choice it ours.
David over on the Slacker Manager let's us in on the news about a free webinar about employee engagement. Looks like an interesting one, so why not join in.
There is a common theme to these three topics, believe it or not. What it is? The power and opportunity of free will and the impact of our daily choices.
This is great news and it is a bit of a nag too. Like diet and exercise. We all know what to do and there is no reason most of us aren't all healthy and fit. Or planning for retirement. Or keeping the garage clean. Or maintaining our relationships. Or keeping our in boxes empty. Free will and choices. We are nagged by the knowledge of their impact and power every day and we use this naginess to create momentum - good and bad. This whole responsible adult phase of life is really a double edged sword, isn't it?

Thanks Lisa -- I love your links to the similar track of diet and exercise here too. Reminds me I NEED a game of golf today -- and your post inpired me to call for a tee time. Stay blessed!
